She is an accomplished and trained mountaineer since the last 35 years. Vineeta has participated in 25 expeditions to the Himalayas having climbed 15 peaks, 9 of which were first ascents. She has climbed several pinnacles and rock faces and has visited almost all the forts of Maharashtra, India.
She also guides groups to Manasarovar and Kailash in Tibet. She is one of the first women in the world to have trekked the entire length of the Himalayas in 1997! She covered the entire range from Arunachal Pradesh in the East to Jammu and Kashmir in the West, going across Bhutan, Sikkim, Nepal, Garhwal, Kumaon, Spiti and Ladakh. Her article on the traverse has been published in The Himalayan Journal, The Alpine Journal and other adventure publications.

What I like about Trekking: When I go trekking I love the solitude and the complete bliss as I totally live in that "present" moment and experience the sheer grandeur of nature.
