Bali is often hailed as one of the world's most gorgeous islands. In fact, that's pretty much the only thing it's hailed as. But Bali would like you to know it isn't a one-trick pony, guys. With gushing rivers, deep canyons, crater lakes and volcanoes dominating its interior landscape, Bali encapsulates everything that's perfect about the outdoors. The island's many tracks and trails are especially generous to mountain bikers. They link different villages to each other and offer a unique adventure combined with breathtaking scenery. On this tour, you will explore rice terraces, temples, villages, and the warm, fascinating Balinese culture. That's right, more than just a 'gorgeous island,' thank you very much.

IS THIS TRIP FOR ME?

  • This trip is recommended for riders who enjoy and have some off-road experience, but you don't have to be an expert to get the best out of this trip. This tour is mainly on jeep trails and single track. While the off road riding is not that technical, some experience is recommended. The support vehicle cannot always follow but will meet the group at certain points along the trail.

    • A friendly Trip360° representative will meet you at the desired point in Kuta or Legian area, after which you will head to Mount Batu Karu, which stands at an altitude of 1300m. This area of Bali is not frequently visited by tourists, so you can soak in the stunning scenery in peace while our rep gets you familiarized with your surroundings. The 35km long ride will take you through the delightfully green Jatiluwih Rice Terraces and surrounding villages. It's a fun and easy ride, mostly descending or flat, with just a few short climbs.

We will stop at one of Bali's most beautiful temples-the famous Tanah Lot temple. Built on a rock in the ocean, it gets surrounded by the sea at high tide-an island on an island, what do you know. Our ride ends at the charming hotel in Canggu, located right on the beach.

  • Day 2Canggu Village - Ubud
    • An early morning transfer will take us to the rim of Mount Batur, one of Bali's most glorious volcanoes. We will cycle along quiet back roads downhill--through local villages, rice paddy fields and picturesque countryside terrain. The first part of the ride will take you through fruit farms and local villages. The second part, through lush rice paddy fields. It's a veritable buffet spread of varied landscapes, and you can eat your fill.

Throughout the tour, you can stop, interact with friendly locals and take photographs. We will also stop at one of the many village temples and explore the role of religion in Balinese culture. We ride all the way down to our hotel located in the art district of Ubud, where we should arrive in the afternoon, giving you ample time to wander through this magical town.

    • Riding distance - 35 km
    • Meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Day 3Ubud - Kuta/Denpasar Airport
    • On this morning, we cycle through the rice paddies around Ubud. Fun fact: this beautiful location was featured in the Julia Roberts movie 'Eat, Pray, Love,' and it won't surprise you why. After a locally prepared lunch, we return to Ubud. Later, we'll take you back to your hotel or to the airport to catch an onward flight.

  • Books to Read

Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert - In her early thirties, Gilbert had everything a modern American woman was supposed to want. This book tells of how she abandoned all these outwards marks of success to find herself and explore the different aspects of her nature, inspiring her readers to do the same. Set against the background of Italy, India and Bali, this book is a must read.

The Last Paradise by Hickman Powell - This book follows the experiences of an American who lives in Bali for five years in the twenties. It is one of the best books from the early days of Bali's tourism.
