About - As the name suggests, the whale shark is the largest fish in the sea, reaching a length of about 40 feet. The whale shark has the luxury to choose from an enormous menu. However, fortunately for sea-dwellers, plankton is their favourite meal. With their gaping mouths close to the surface, they scoop out tiny animals and plankton along with any small fish that happen to be in the vicinity. The whale shark is also known to be a filter feeder. As they have a filter structure, that enables them to filter and retain their food.
